Great weather, perfect flow, and a fun group all aligned in Arizona for a classic wilderness river trip among the cactus.

Check out the video of Chris Massey running Ranie Falls at 1700 cfs!
Good group, good flow, good flip in Velvet!
Not nearly as hot on this Veteran's Day trip with the Oregon Whitewater Association. But still a great time!
Another great trip on the Rogue River. Super hot but cool water. Finally got to explore the old cabin up on Clay Hill.
Rafting the Deschutes with the Goodells
This was a 150 mile canoe trip on the Missouri River in Montana. No whitewater and lots of paddling, but this was a bucket trip list for me. Except for the cows, the river is much the way it was when Lewis and Clark explored it.
Ten years after our last trip the kids were old enough to take with us. This time no carnage, flips, or stiches. 18 days and 280 miles to Pearce Ferry in the heat of the summer. Great fun!
Yet another great trip to Idaho, a little more carnage than usual but all ended well. The last few links are videos evn though the thumbnails are missing.
There's no better place to be during a hot day in Portland, than the Deschutes River by Maupin.
Another great trip to Idaho, a little more rain than usual at night, but a really fun trip with great people and a lot less yellowjackets!
Another great trip to Idaho, floating through the River of No Return Wilderness on the Main Salmon. Great friends, great weather, everything was perfect - except the yellowjackets.
Two different day trips with friends to the Splash and Giggle section of the Deschutes. Nice and hot the way we like it!
Perfect level around 3.8 feet. Carnage at Velvet Falls and Tappan Falls. But nobody flew out this time. More video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9FuuojYoHk and here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3neUBvLwr4U
This year I had to patch a hole in my raft and we got to camp across from a fire on the Snake River. We also had an alcohol monitor on the trip which limited the drunkenness. Except for Karl.
This trip illustrates the value of a satellite phone. So other than the compound fracture and the helicopter evacuation, it was a great trip.
Annual Memorial Day Weekend trip to the Lochsa River in Idaho.
We took a couple of dentists down the river and had amazing weather for that time of year.
Two weeks after the Lower Salmon we were back on the same river with a different group of people, cooler weather, but an equally great time. This time we were upriver in the famous Frank Church River of No Return wilderness.
Big sandy beaches, fun people, warm weather. The photos say more than I can say here.
Annual Memorial Day Weekend trip to the Lochsa River in Idaho.
I don't know why more people don't run this river on a warm spring day after a little rain brings it up to runnable flows. No big rapids but nice scenery and we always see bald eagles.
Rafting with kids.
This was an 18-day trip through the Grand Canyon in the heat of summer, all the way down to Lake Mead. Another fantastic trip! This web site just has a handful of photos and video of two flips. I also made a DVD of the trip. Contact me for a copy.
The Tat is a 10-day trip that starts in the Yukon, crosses into British Columbia, and ends at the Pacific Ocean in Alaska. From there we flew out to Haines. Fantastic trip!
